Three different reviews/analyses, for a total of 48 Disney films, found that female protagonists focused, especially with characters of color, on their sexuality, where there were frequent examples of sexism and racism in films that featured highlight the “pale” skin tone, small waist, delicate limbs and full breasts” of protagonists. One of the three showed and provided examples of gender roles that were out of date with how current society views these roles; this analysis highlighted a multitude of housework performed by women. The latter study examined the films for several cultural constructs that included gender and distinguished the consistency of stereotypes across all films, even with the last of the films featuring fewer stereotypes (Dawn et al., 556 – 557). These three studies all demonstrate an interesting effort in how gender roles and stereotypes are portrayed in Disney
