People inhabit the entire earth, yet they naturally have a habit of destroying the world around them and themselves. Any concern for nature and the human body at some point becomes irrelevant, either for no reason, as in the case of cigarettes, or because of greed, as in the case of Scott, which we will talk about later. Brandon Schrand, in his essay “All That Glows” shows the destructive nature of human beings through bombs. Together with some of his friends he forms a team that creates bombs and detonates them in a silica quarry. They go so far as to almost accidentally kill one of their group members and plant a fake bomb at the school as a joke. In “All That Glows” Schrand explains the excitement of a bomb explosion by evoking emotion with the passage “When the bomb exploded, one of its caps went off like a missile, ricocheted off a stone slab and missed Scott's face half a meter. We all heard his hiss, but Scott claims he saw the bullet. He was coming at me!” They continue to build many more bombs after this one, even in the face of a possibly lethal accident. This group of kids would do anything to experience the thrill of a bomb, even though they knew it could kill them. The idea of self-destruction does not hinder them. One can even go so far as to say that they only continue because of their dangerous appearance. This really explains the idea of self-loathing and shows that people do dangerous things for simple reasons, even if their life depends on the balance of their choices. Schrand brings the idea of pure death of the environment by humanity into the picture with a very simple image when he and his friends created a fake pipe bomb as a joke at school, consequently also......half of paper......in fertilizer, this change also releases many harmful chemicals into the air environment, and once again the earth's atmosphere is destroyed. People believe they own this planet, and in reality they don't. This planet was created so that we could live on it, not so that we could use or abuse it as some would say. People want to do what they want, when they want to do it. They don't care who they hurt and they don't care whose life they are ruining. Those who smoke destroy their lungs without thinking twice, otherwise they will put out their cigarettes causing cancer. They will say “I know a lot of people who smoked all their lives and never got cancer” just as an excuse to do harm. They take their problems out on others so they can destroy them and create more problems for other people to try to solve. People are cruel animals and one day we will push the red disaster button.
