Girls grow up with the ideology of what love is and how it is achieved. This ideology is formed through the construction of fairy tales that immerse the lives of girls. But what is it about fairy tales that leads to this construction of how love is achieved? In the texts Grimm's Beauty and the Beast, Andersen's The Little Mermaid, and Perrault's Cinderella the authors all address the same construct of how true love is achieved. Analyzing the similarities in these three fairy tales is important to understand the correlation of how love is achieved in each story. Each fairy tale is interconnected by three main plots; sacrifice, transformation and happily ever after. Sacrifice will be demonstrated through the characters' self-sacrifice to find true love. The transformation shows how the characters transform from innocent young girls into beautiful and graceful women. Ultimately, Happily Ever After will show that no matter what hardships these characters are exposed to, they will stick it out until the end and get their happy ending. The main correlation of these fairy tales can be demonstrated in relation to the plot and themes. Through the plot you can see how all fairy tales use a hidden interconnection to tell their stories. Inbreeding is finally seen in the fairy tale theme which is the ideology that women will give up everything to find true love. In order for girls to entertain this idea of what love is, a girl must first make an innocent sacrifice. Finally, we must ask ourselves whether to find true love it is worth giving up family, oneself and all the things considered important just to reach this happy ending. Sacrifice is giving up something for the sake of other considerations. Through Beauty's, Ariel... at the center of the sheet... a common theme, the search for true love. This quest is what makes a fairy tale the mystical journey that enhances a magical experience. Without this underlying quest to find true love, these fairy tales would not have a strong impact on readers. Although it gives girls a false ideology of what love is, it is an essential part of growing up to lose yourself in the magical world of imagination. It is because of the common plot themes used in these fairy tales, although some small details differ, that there are more similarities that show an underlying interconnection. Without this journey of sacrifice, transformation and happy ending there would be no fairytale world and all the magical elements that come from it. It is therefore from these three key elements, sacrifice, transformation and happy ending, that the virtues of love are found.
