The main driving distraction is cell phones. Most adults and teenagers will engage in texting and driving. Due to the serious problem of texting and driving, many campaigns have been launched, one launched by AT&T "when it comes to texting and driving, it can wait". This campaign has led to many drivers pledging to no longer use their phone while driving, there is an app available that will send automatic messages to anyone who texts while the individual is driving. When someone drives at a speed of 55 miles per hour for just 4.6 seconds, the length will be 100 yards as long as a football field. Therefore, even interrupting the complete view of the road for a few seconds still carries the risk of serious dangers. Another cause of distracted driving is exhaustion or tiredness, which will cause a much slower reaction time. The slower reaction time causes many of the accidents that happen when people are tired. Another possibility is to fall asleep at the wheel, although for a few seconds you may drift, or swerve into another lane and hit another car causing a serious or fatal traffic accident. When taking driving lessons, students within the class will hear the saying "be careful, stay alive". The last major driving distraction is eating and drinking. One of the problems with eating and drinking while driving is that it causes both visual and manual distraction. When you take your eyes off the road there will be many dangers
