Privilege is having your body accepted by the public and being offered opportunities regardless of qualifications or background. Privilege can also consist of accepting certain behaviors just because a man has exhibited those actions. Posters, cinema and the music industry are just some of the media that reinforce gender privilege today. To begin with, body image is an issue highlighted in the media, however, the male body is acceptable regardless of how it looks. Society instills the idea that a man can be in horrible conditions and still get a woman with the looks of a supermodel. Men are essentially taught that they don't have to work to deserve a woman. Furthermore, it is common to see men letting themselves go, while women have to maintain a strict body image to be accepted by society.
