Topic > Sarty and Abner Snopes in a burning barn - 755

Sarty is intimidated but loyal to his father. Abner is disliked by everyone except his family, even the family is disliked by the local citizens, just after he was kicked out and preparing to leave, a boy hissed at the Snopes labeling them a "barn burner!" (Faulkner 189) revealing Snopes' reputation to local citizens. As mentioned above, Sarty compared Abner to a wasp, which stings and harasses for a moment and Sarty is happy that his father is away from him.
