Beauty. Which is commonly defined by the super models we see today. Some people want to be like them and some want to look like them. With women and men as beautiful as they are, others are convinced that this monster they should appear. For women, it is recommended that super models be five feet tall, have a 36" bust, a 26" waist, and hips should be 35". Today's world has made it possible to achieve these gorgeous looks in a very simple and easy way. Cosmetic surgery is what gives people the amazing results they have wanted all their lives. Before cosmetic surgery people trained to achieve body goals like these, but society thinks: why sweat when you can lie down. in a hospital bed for a small price. Angela Newstatter, a feminist, Juli Slattery, a Christian, expresses her views on cosmetic surgery in her article "Is it wrong to have plastic surgery?" Ethos, it is very credible in her article she is well informed about the fact and also provides information from the Bible which in her case is a credible source. She provides a consistent tone throughout her article, this will allow her readers to better understand what her point is. His article explains, “A skilled surgeon can make you look decades younger.” (Slattery, Anno, P.2) He does not provide his readers with a reference or story to make this statement a little more convincing. It also states that “…the Bible provides no specific instructions on plastic surgery.” (Slattery, Anno, P.4) The ethos of his article is very unique in that it is able to make a point without being biased. She is honest throughout her article and Juli Stattery conveys an emotional feel. Well, it might be for certain people. He says "If you look in the mirror... you'll see things you don't like." Then he goes off describing things that people might feel bad about if they looked in the mirror. The emotional information given by the writer throughout the article makes you feel sad, then towards the end it is more of a happy feeling. Slattery quotes, “People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks upon the heart.” He kind of gets people to feel better about themselves to the point of his article. His pathos is the strongest in his entire article because he appeals to the reader's emotions by making them feel sad and happy in one article. This is very convincing because it leaves his readers feeling better about theirs
