Come with me as I take you to one of the most unknown haunted places in the United States today. It is a journey along dark corridors and into rooms painted by both shadow and light where spirits speak and ghosts walk. The Albans Sanatorium is a destination known to serious paranormal investigators as a place where they can seek answers to the mysteries of what lies beyond death. Some of these investigators managed to find the solution to some of these ancient puzzles themselves through their experiences in the sanatorium. The scary and true stories found in the pages of this book concern the encounters of these curious investigators with the ghost sanatorium of St. Albans. Additionally, Shelli Sprouse Meade explores the history of the sanatorium in the first chapter of the book, This boost of energy was nice. At that moment, at 2:01 am, I pressed the shutter on my camera and captured the photo on the previous page. Did my flash bounce off the rapidly developing ectoplasm (the stuff ghosts are supposedly made of)? Who knows, but I shared this photo for your consideration. There are many more stories I want to share with you, but I will do so in Chapter 12, It's All in the Photographs: Ghost Writers. My daughters Stephanie and Megan, Ken O'Keefe, Scarlett McGrady, Leigh Schillings Edwards, Jon Matney and I make up the key members of this team of paranormal investigators. Pamela Wilson Berry is an auxiliary member. During a photo shoot on November 1, 2014 in St. Albans I took a series of photographs of what appeared to be a white mist (ectoplasm) as it developed into a humanoid form. I also share those photos with you in that chapter. Our encounters with the scary and glorious ghosts of St. Albans are quite typical of the experiences of the other paranormal investigation teams you will read about in The Ghosts of St. Albans.
