Animals have always played an essential role in many aspects of this world. Some people view these roles with favoritism, others with disgust. Animals are considered different from humans by some people because of their behavior, mannerisms, or actions. Some animals are used as food by humans and other animals, while others are trapped for their fur. Many times people purchase animals as pets, only to then neglect or mistreat them. For many years, the ethical treatment of animals has been a highly controversial topic in moral discussion, often in reference to an ethical code or rule. In this article I will discuss these ethical issues related to the treatment of animals and explore these issues from the perspective of a virtual ethicist. Finally, based on the description and application, its value as an ethical theory will be evaluated. Animals have many attributes. They are a pleasure and wonderful companions. They provide beauty, comfort and love. However, some people debate whether or not there is a difference between humans and other animals. Many people believe that animals have emotions like humans and have a secret lifestyle that humans don't understand. Animal rights advocates believe that animals deserve rights because they cannot communicate like humans do, possess no emotions, and play an important role in the environment. Others would strongly oppose this belief. The killing of animals for food has been practiced for many years and is part of our survival. However, this does not give us the right to commit wrong acts towards animals. Every day in the United States, animals are beaten, neglected, or forced to fight for survival. It is not just up to the legal system to ensure that people are aware and informed about animal cruelty. There are many things that every citizen can do. The simplest action is for people to take care of their pets and learn the facts so they can educate others about proper pet care. Another easy way to help is to donate or volunteer at a local animal shelter. Never doubt what a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can do to change the world.
