Manufacturers work to formulate and distribute prescription drugs with deviant intentions. The authors GlaxoSmithKline state “…transform these high prices into research into new treatments for diseases. True, it seems that we Americans shoulder most of the research bill for the rest of the world.” In this case we have the feeling that not all the money used for prescription drugs is simply invested in profits. There is a prodigious sum being invested in research and this could perhaps be the cause of the extraordinary costs of drugs.
