I grew up very quickly, since I was the youngest in the family and my siblings were twenty years apart, I was always with adults and rarely with children, at least not of the my age children. The only children around me were my cousins who were around twelve years old or older. So, there I was playing in a time of grief over the loss of my grandmother. I ran and hid behind one of the largest flower ornaments I had ever seen. It had to be at least eight feet tall or more, but it was perfect for a princess throne, it was just perfect for me. My grandmother must have been very popular in her town because I remember crowds of people. There were so many people who had put chairs outside the house and even brought a truck full of tables so people could eat all the food my aunts were preparing in the kitchen. I remember picking up all the different types of sweet breads and sweet dishes they had. The scent of cinnamon and flowers filled the air throughout the house. My mother was so busy with all the people who kept coming up to her making her cry even more that she didn't have time to look or check how many sweets I was eating. It was free
