Topic > Case Study: Interviewing a Stranger About His Child

When I was assigned this interview/notebook task, I was very uncomfortable with the fact that I would be interviewing a stranger about his child. Before meeting Megan Lindley, I was extremely nervous about what to expect and also how she, her husband, and her birth coach would handle me there. Walking to the front door of Megan's house was one of the scariest things I have ever had to do, however, I did it with a positive attitude and prayed to the Lord that she would be very open and willing to answer the questions that I had had for her. Megan opened the door and greeted me with a genuine smile. He immediately started asking me questions, which was such a relief because I had no idea how I would begin the interview process. After the introductions, Megan and I had a great conversation about Hannah, her seven-month-old daughter, which was a wonderful transition into some of the questions I would ask her. Due to my lack of knowledge about pregnancy and childbirth, which has increased significantly since I conducted this interview, I asked Megan all of the sample questions provided on the activity sheet in the notebook, and once I felt more comfortable comfortable, I began to ask about some of Megan's concerns for Hannah's well-being. she started as soon as she found out she was pregnant, so she started drinking more water, however, because her taste buds weren't working properly, the water tasted like metal to her, which always made her nauseous. One very strange, yet incredible thing that Megan shared was that she never vomited during her pregnancy, she just felt nauseous. During this time in her pregnancy, Megan began reading Supernatural Childbirth and said it helped her find biblical scriptures to support her need to stay in a healthy environment.
