Topic > Guns, Steel and Germs, by Jared Diamond - 1344

After reading Guns, Steel and Germs, the five main points are domestication of plants and animals, food production, government, innovation and germs . The domestication of plants and animals helped determine a society's food supply. First there is the domestication of plants. Houseplants were used for food, clothing, and traction. There are approximately 200,000 species of wild plants, but humans eat only a few thousand of those wild plant species, and what's more, only a few hundred are domesticated. Many species of wild plants are not of quality because the vast majority of wild plants are not suitable for domestication: they have a woody structure, are not capable of producing edible food, and even the roots and leaves are not edible. The fertile crescent, containing relatively moist and fertile soil, had olive, fig and grape trees. These plants were among the easiest wild fruit species to grow. The Fertile Crescent was the center of food production in the world, the rise of agriculture, and one of the first places of independent domestication. It was the place of origin of many of the world's major crops and most of the major domesticated animals. There are only 14 species of large domesticated land mammals in the world. For example, the Fertile Crescent had four species: the goat, the sheep, the pig, and the cow. These four species were four of the five major species of large domesticated mammals. Domesticated animals were used for food, clothing, and transportation. The domestication of plants and animals allowed the maintenance of food supplies, large sedentary societies, and technology. These things have progressed further into food production, political organizations, ideas... middle of paper... and directly from our pets and pets, the animal pathogen evolves into a disease where it can be transmitted between humans and cause epidemics, whether the animal pathogen will potentially emerge as a major killer of humanity, and whether it implies that humans are confined by these long-standing epidemics. Despite the epidemic, humans of the past had their own defensive response systems in their bodies. Now, humans have arrived at a point where advanced technology can help cure or eliminate harmful or deadly diseases. My critical analysis of the book is that I agree with these five main concepts because the story unfolds differently in different areas. Ever since humans began using fire, humans have changed the terrain they stand on, and as the history of the world continues, you can find these five major points changing aspects of life, power, and history..
