We spend countless dollars to take care of these people while they are in prison. Our tax dollars go to feed them, clothe them, and take care of their medical needs. I would like the police to create a program that allows drug dealers to work during the day and take the money they earn to pay restitution, court costs and child support if they have children. When these drug dealers are incarcerated, the children do not receive any kind of support. Creating a work program that can train drug dealers on jobs they could do after being released from prison. This type of program could help small towns with limited budgets and numerous drug arrests. The work program would require participants to obtain a GED if they do not have a high school diploma and training at various entry levels
