Topic > Tim Burton Film Diversity - 839

Although society has progressed significantly since then, these preconceived notions about certain races still exist and are perpetuated by modern films that revolve around characters that meet these expectations. Creating a film with the intention of being different, therefore, seems to be unethical because it is not to provide opportunities for these actors of color, but to appeal to society and profit from the film. This sort of personal gain, therefore, invalidates our attempt at diversity. The most realistic way to promote diversity, then, is to create roles for actors and actresses that, if nothing else, challenge the stereotypes and microaggressions that continue to victimize people of all genders.
