World War II had a great effect on America, how we were viewed in the world, how our culture would grow and develop, and how our citizens would problems would be developed and fixed upon their return. It united people for a while who were then divided, and it changed the way Americans looked at higher education. Perhaps most importantly, he brought America to the world and offered it to them as something that could grow and become part of their culture, called coca's colonization of the world (Marling). It had an effect on the status of women. in the economy, on the ability of blacks and Hispanics to step up (for a short time), and on the movement of soldiers returning to homes they could buy in the suburbs to get away from city life while still being close enough to the city to enjoy of everything it offers. Add to this the cultural changes brought about by the effects of the nuclear bomb and the Cold War and you have many new and untested effects of war (HS102). In every war women had come forward to try to help the men who had gone out to fight, but the more agricultural societies of the Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War and even World War I meant that most committed to carrying out work on the farm. During World War II, wives and mothers were just as likely to come forward to take places in the factory as in the fields. While America was still predominantly agricultural, the factories needed for war had led to women taking the place of their husbands, children, and fiancés. And while some women followed their husbands to the battlefront in the Civil War, and some even enlisted as men, World War II brought a whole new experience as a massive war machine needed men at the front to... .half of paper ......gger and better brought a whole new lifestyle that was exported. Around the world (Marling), including the dominance of English as the language of science and much more (Keniston), to becoming the primary language of the Internet and other things we enjoy today.
