What is trust? According to Merriam-Webster's online dictionary, confidence is a supposed dependence on the character, ability, and strength of someone or something. My definition of trust is someone who can do something without being controlled or being able to depend on someone. The focus of this essay will be trust. I will delve into confidence at home, at school and confidence in general. Follow me on this journey as I explain why confidence is necessary and how it improves your character. Let's get started... Trust is needed wherever you go. In my opinion I think it's very important because home is where the heart is. My heart is my family. At home you have to have trust. Without trust in your home, you are like a stranger in a stranger's house. I say this because when you are not trusted in your own home, you will be constantly watched and monitored. This will make you feel very uncomfortable. Having trust in your home means having trust in your parents. When your parents trust you, it's one of the best feelings in the world. You have a sense of responsibility and a sense of independence. You don't have to be watched every time you're on the computer and you don't have to be asked what you're doing when you're on the bathroom. (Yes, I'm making this personal). When you have confidence in your home, you have confidence everywhere you go. You will also be tasked with doing things outside the home, such as going to retreats and watching movies with friends. This is why there is a need for trust at home. ♫There is also a need for trust at school. Trust is necessary with your parents and teachers when it comes to school. Your parents have to trust you every day as they go to work and send you to school to behave and do all your work. They don't have time to sit at work worrying if you're interrupting a lesson or doing your work. They should be able to go to work and be comfortable. It's hard enough to do a job anyway. Your teachers need to trust you too. They need to be able to know that you won't cheat on a test or do your homework before you get to class and you won't copy someone else's work.
