There has been a lot of talk about the family and the Jets organization and I was surprised by some of the comments that were made; I guess that's fine with me, however I have prevented the family from responding to these speculations. This response is not intended to defend us, but simply to express my thoughts. We live in an amazing country that still allows everyone to have personal expression. With such freedom comes responsibility, truth, compassion and growth. The law does not prevent us from expressing ourselves, no matter if you are a parolee, a saint, a college dropout or a Ph.D. or even if your purpose is solely to discourage and not encourage someone else. I am proud of my family, they did their best to give the community the best team they could put together. Our hope was also that those among us would understand our purpose (omit) to give athletes a second chance, to showcase their talent, to give them another means to achieve their success.
