His family is in constant communication with his teacher, Mrs. Carrillo. They have meetings and conversations about Elsa's achievements and discuss the goals Elsa still needs to achieve to be successful in third grade. I can say that this family works very hard to make life as comfortable and fulfilling as possible for their only daughter and granddaughter. As for the work they do to support the family, Elsa's mother attended beauty school and currently works in a salon near their home. While her mother works, her grandmother and grandfather take care of Elsa, making sure she finishes her homework and gets to and from school safely. I often see Grandma picking up Elsa from class instead of waiting in the parent line, which I think shows the strong bond they have as grandmother and granddaughter. After a long, hard week, her grandmother also picks her up and takes her to riding lessons which she can only participate in if they have completed all their homework for the week. This gives Elsa something to look forward to and work towards, which I think is extremely important. On weekends, the grandparents spend a lot of time at the swap meet selling jewelry that the grandmother makes by hand. They weren't specific about other things they sell, but said they sell "pretty much everything you can think of!" The whole family helps in taking a position and managing the business. Elsa often talks about the swap meet, because many of her friend's families also sell items and products at this event. This is something that Elsa and her family love to do, and this extra money helps a lot because it can help them pay the bills as they live with Elsa and her
