Topic > Analysis of Malcolm Through his reading, he discovered terrible things that happened in history and became a civil rights activist. Malcolm X changed his feelings and position during his piece, “Learning to Read.” His emotions are clear in his writing, but it is clear that the change in his writing is caused by a change in his thoughts because of the things he has learned. The essay shows his lack of reading skills when he was young, but also how interested he was in it and how much he used it. He says reading is as important to readers' lives as it was to his own, as it helps shape one's thoughts and views. Without the ability to read and understand the world, it becomes difficult to construct your own ethical opinions. Malcolm that they can easily understand. Malcolm's point of view remains mostly consistent throughout his piece, but changes slightly at the beginning, middle, and end. First, he talks about when he was a child and couldn't read. He also talks about the time he spent in prison when he taught himself to read. The way he talks about his journey shows his point of view. Readers are able to put Malcom X on their level and relate to him because he tells his true journey in learning to read. This makes the reader think of him differently. Rather than being Malcolm X, he's just your average convict trying to find his place in the world. During powerful statements in which he uses this word, his harsh tone immediately disgusts readers and arouses a feeling of anger in them. Two things remain the same throughout his writing, and that is his passion and his power. These are what impose the importance and meaning of the essay in the reader's mind.
