“Life is a video game. No matter how good you get, you will always be destroyed in the end” (“Video Game Quotes” 1). Over time, researchers, psychiatrists and parents have often wondered how harmful violent video games can be to society's youth. This is an important issue for people with children in their personal lives or work environments. These games have become a major risk factor for aggressive behavior in children. Researchers say video games influence adults too; however, they have an even greater effect on younger brains in the early stages of development. Video games have negative effects on children's behavior. Some effects of video games are reduced academic performance, aggression, obesity and emotional disorders. Reduced academic performance Children who play video games often without being watched by their parents forget their homework and begin to fail classes. Children get distracted quite easily when it comes to the simplest things, like video games. They may also lose track of time and stay up late playing these games, until they fall asleep in class. Falling asleep in class and failing tests show reduced academic performance in children. Video games with aggressive behavior also teach children to become disrespectful. Children who take up this habit begin to do poorly in school because they are too busy causing problems and disturbing others during lessons. Some might say that children, who continuously play video games, start a tendency to daydream about different things. video games.
