After Hamlet kills Polonius, Claudius sends Hamlet to die in England along with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. However, Hamlet discovers this by finding a letter. He rewrites the letter so that Guildenstern and Rosencrantz are killed. Ophelia is driven to further madness after losing her father and commits suicide. Sing “He's dead and gone, lady, he's dead and gone; At his head a green meadow of grass, At his heels a stone." Ophelia's death is very tragic and undeserved. Polonius' death pushes his son Laertes to seek revenge. Claudius then uses Laertes to get rid of Hamlet in a sword fight. Laertes stabs Hamlet, Hamlet stabs him back and kills him. Both Laertes and Hamlet are noble young men who do not deserve to be killed. Right before he dies Laertes says: “He has been served justly. It is a temperate poison on its own. Exchange pardon with me, noble Hamlet. Let not my death and that of my father fall upon you, nor yours upon me! *Dies*” (Act 5, scene 2,327-331). He is willing to forgive Hamlet, which shows that he is morally sound.
