Topic > Desire to graduate from the University of Connecticut

I have always wanted to go to a large university with over 20,000 students and a huge campus. When I was in high school, I tried to apply to both the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the University of Connecticut Storrs. However, in the end I only applied to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for various reasons. And I came here knowing that I would change myself to be a better person. I am the youngest daughter of three of my parents' daughters. As a child and even today I am more pampered and protected than my older sisters. Until I was 14 I was never away from home without my mother. Even though UConn is the same distance from my home in Burlington, Massachusetts as UMass is, the fact that UMass is out of state was a big deal for me and my parents. My older sister was also attending UMass for her 4th year when I entered as a freshman. Even though at age 17 I was finally living alone with a roommate and without my parents, my parents found peace knowing that my sister is here to take care of me. However this did not happen. My sister was a senior when I was a freshman and was pursuing a double major and a minor. He had a very eventful life. At first it was a shame. I expected my sister to show me where my classes are held on this huge campus. But he didn't have time for me. It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. Being stuck away from home with no one around to guide me made me learn how to survive in the real world with real and very different people. I have come out of my shell and now know how to take care of myself even in difficult situations. I have learned to decide for myself what is right and wrong, good and bad for me. I imagine…middle of the paper…exactly what UConn can offer me that UMass couldn't. I found various reasons to come to UConn. First of all, UConn offers Physiology and Neurobiology as a major in its College of Liberal Arts and Science. Not only is this specialization more closely related to my interests, but this specialization in this specific college will also be more rewarding because CLAS is among the top research institutions in the country. So my second reason for wanting to attend UConn is because I want to be part of some research in my college career and be part of a new discovery before I embark on my journey to becoming a doctor. And my third reason is that UConn needs to deliver on its great reputation. UConn is among the nation's top universities and is the highest-ranked public university in New England. I want to proudly graduate from the University of Connecticut and be happy with my college experience.
