Topic > The beauty of Shakespeare's sonnets - 1335

In today's society, there are not many books or songs that describe the true value of human relationships. The most popular songs and books talk about parties and actions that make us forget morals. However, if you read some of Shakespeare's sonnets, you would find that human relationships are highly valued. Proving that friendship can mend a person's pain, that love can and should be immortalized, and that marriage between two individuals can be strong. and it's true, Shakespeare's sonnets 55, 30 and 116 truly explain the real value of human relationships. In most of Shakespeare's sonnets, he seems to be writing about his insecurities in relationships or his own self-worth. However, in sonnet 55, Shakespeare expresses tremendous confidence in his relationship by showing how much he appreciates their love. This statement says that until the day of his judgment, when they are raised to heaven, they will live in this poem and in the eyes of those who read it. This sonnet truly expresses the true meaning of friendship because he is telling his friends that he wants to keep their memory alive forever. According to Ox Quarry Books Ltd, "Sonnet 55 shares a theme with that of many others, which oppose the power of verse death and the cruel knife of Time, and promise immortality to the beloved." For example, in the last two stanzas of sonnet 55, Shakespeare states, "So till judgment arise, live in this, and dwell in lovers' eyes" (Shakespeare). Shakespeare loves his significant other so much that he puts it in a poem, telling his beloved that when they die, their memory will live on in his writing and be remembered by anyone who reads it. Does this show how much Shakespeare valued his r...... middle of paper...... or can no one help you? Well, after reading Shakespeare's sonnets, it occurs to you that there are people like friends and family who are always willing to help you in whatever you are going through. This is the power of love and what constitutes a true relationship. In Shakespeare's sonnets 30, 55, and 116, the meaning of what a true relationship is and why it should be valued is expressed in a way that today's society does not.
