AbstractThe well-being of a community is in the hands of its citizens. Together, individuals can make a difference in their current situation and future development. As a Public Library librarian, it is important to understand the diverse demographics of the community you serve. One aspect I felt was lacking in the community was the development of local children, especially teenagers. The following report was developed with the aim of communicating the potential of an awareness programme, “Children of Tomorrow”, to improve job growth for the future generation. The plans, implementation and promotion of the program were outlined with the aim of solving local community problems. Introduction Community growth is an important aspect of human growth and development. It is a long-term investment that requires the participation of both people in the community and stakeholders, such as the general government administrator. While there are numerous activities, programs, and social schemes that can be developed to contribute to community growth (Kelly, 2004), none have a more lasting impact than developing intellectual growth. Intellectual development, as scholars believe, can have a great influence on current and future community growth (Vobora, 2008; Hage, 2004). This is why the developed countries of the world emphasize investments in community development, growth programs and progress initiatives. In the United States of America, although the government has developed numerous national programs to improve intellectual heritage, these initiatives must be carried out at the local community level.
