Topic > Cyberbullying: A Dark Side of Social Media - 1929

Because most bullying occurs at such an immature age, the negative effects of social media are even more harmful. Social media networks were not intentionally created for children, so the effects may be worse on children than on adults. From a social perspective, these websites are deteriorating and hindering children's development. This explains why many parents feel uncomfortable allowing their children to access these sites. Social media sites are not suitable for children because they are still learning life skills and developing their morals on how to express themselves. These sites are simply exposing children to the unnecessary stress and unwanted feelings that cyberbullying is bringing to them.
