The poem was very simple and easy to understand. The only things that could cause confusion were some words if the definition was unknown to a person. Some words that are a little confusing in this poem are Dally and Polystyrene. Dally is an intransitive verb and means to waste time (Merriam-Webster). This definition is correct for the word in this poem because the author wrote “you should never flirt with any young man” (3). This basically means don't waste your time on a young man who does the things listed in the poem. Another word that causes some confusion is polystyrene. It is a rigid transparent thermoplastic that has good physical and electrical insulating properties and is used primarily in molded products, foams, and sheet materials (Merriam-Webster).
