In today's society, technology has become more advanced than the human mind. Companies want to ensure that their information systems are always up to date with rapidly growing technology. It is very important for senior level executives and boards of directors of companies that their systems can produce the right and best information for their company to achieve better results and new organizational capabilities. Big Data and data analytics are one of those important factors that contribute to the success of a company and its updated software and information systems. What is Big Data and data analytics? You may be wondering what Big Data analytics is. Well, according to SAS, the leading company in business analytics software and services, describes big data analytics as “the process of examining big data to discover hidden patterns, unknown correlations, and other useful information that can be used to make better decisions." Since the goal of many companies is to seek insights into the enormous amount of structured, unstructured and binary data at their disposal to improve business decisions and outcomes, it is clear why big data analytics is a big problem. “Big data differs from traditional data collection because it acquires, manages and processes data with low latency. It also has one or more of the listed characteristics: high volume, high speed, or high variety. Big data comes from sensors, devices, video/audio, networks, log files, the web, and social media, and much of it is generated in real time and at scale."
