As a species, we have always tried to achieve our goals by any means possible. From our earliest knowledge of prehistory to our current understanding of how we have adapted to our surroundings as humans, whether it is to quench our hunger or thirst or get a promotion to buy a new car, we are always been driven to success by the pursuit of a goal. The journey we undertake to pursue our goals has only become more diverse and complex, and the way we have documented our activities has evolved extensively over time. From the first discovery of cave paintings depicting our ancestors searching for food, to the discovery of film and its impact on the way we continue to talk about our activities. Our history as a species and the goals we have fought for will be forever cemented in our history thanks to this discovery. Through this medium, it opens the door to our past history and the many ways it can be reinterpreted to serve as a guide to our future as a civilization. Specifically, it is about the history of the United States of America and what our founders fought for. Our ancestors came from a country very different from our philosophies today. It was a place where no man was considered equal, had been heavily structured by dominant social classes, and had repressed its people when they expressed their values ​​and beliefs if they did not align with what was deemed acceptable by the dominant classes. Disagreeing with their superiors and deciding that it was not what was best for themselves and many others who agreed, they founded a place that they hoped would embody their dreams of equality and continue to be a place where ev. ..... middle of paper......y, and in the final realization of that dream to Gatsby in the form of Daisy as we each find our own interpretation. While not everyone agrees that this is a lifestyle that makes sense or even is possible like F. Scott Fitzgerald, that doesn't mean it isn't a dream worth dreaming. Through Luhrmann's development of our modern Gatsby through his use of mise-en-scène which gave birth to the awakening of what the American Dream truly is, which is equality and prosperity for all who live by it.
