This inquiry-based learning (EBL) essay will focus on the concept of spirituality and how it relates to health. The concept has a variety of meanings and is seen as a unique entity for all individuals. To explore this concept, I chose to define spirituality in the context of nursing, comparing and contrasting it using different perspectives from the literature. Subsequently, the most relevant literature for nursing will be identified and analyzed. The second part of the essay will critically analyze a clinical experience linked to the concept of spirituality. The problems identified during the clinical experience will be related to the definitions indicated. The third part of the essay will be a reflection on EBL, in which I will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the EBL group experience using leadership skills. At the end a conclusion will be drawn and a summary of the main points will be presented. Spirituality is seen as a universal concept relevant to all individuals; the uniqueness of each individual is fundamental (Mcsherry, 2000). Therefore, the topic is complex and relatively complicated to discuss. This is due to the different interpretation which is influenced by the individual's life experience. Therefore, definitions of spirituality can differ significantly for all individuals and for each literature (Mcsherry, 2000). Different literatures such as Dickson (1975), Shelly and fish (1988) and Stoll (1989) have attempted to interpret the concept of spirituality by first exploring and understanding the possible meaning associated with the term spirituality by looking at its root “spirit”. The word originates from the Latin word 'spiritus', meaning "breath, wind and air". This c...... half of the article ...... important topic to consider in nursing (McSherry, 2000).
