Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a fictional novel that highlights the natural characteristics of humankind. The Book was created during the post-World War II period. Before creating this novel, William had experience in the Navy, where he learned the nature of humanity. The book's introduction tells of a plane crash in which a large group of kids get stranded on an island. Here they grow in character and are shown human instincts such as leadership, brutality and survival. Through the influence of the combination of his education and military experience, William Golding wrote one of the most powerful books on the truth or nature of humanity's survival. Born on September 19, 1911, in an English town known as Saint Columb Minor, Cornwall, England, Sir William Gerald Golding grew up in a house adjacent to a cemetery. Her mother, named Mildrid, was a suffragette who promoted women's right to vote. Suffragettes were members of women's organizing movements during the late 19th and early 20th centuries in both England and the United States. His father, Alex, was the headmaster of Marlborough Grammar School where William attended school. At this point in his life, William already had an inclination towards writing. At the age of 12, William attempted and failed to write his first novel. Discouraged by his failures, William resorted to bullying his peers as an outlet for his frustration. When asked about his childhood actions, he described them as funny. After his primary school years, William continued his studies at Brasenose College, Oxford University.
