In today's digital age, our life seems simpler thanks to its technologies. Information technology is the most influential among others. It supports everything related to new inventions and innovations. One of the important roles in computer technology is a database. Although database is not as popular as web application in information technology innovations, it determines whether such application system is good or not. The database is “a shared collection of logically related data and their description, designed to meet the information needs of an organization” (Connolly & Begg 2010, p. 65). Last week I interacted with them, for example with the flight data database, the student system, the bank, the library and Facebook. I just arrived in Australia last week. I flew from Jakarta, Indonesia to Adelaide with Singapore Airlines. Before letting me board the plane, they had to check if my name was on their flight list and if the flight number was correct. They checked my ticket against their computer data, i.e. the flight database. The ticket has attributes such as passenger name, flight number, departure location and time, arrival location and time. These attributes are some of the many attributes in their database. After checking the ticket and my passport, they printed my boarding pass which has attributes such as boarding number, boarding time and seat number. The flight database contains all data from the beginning, i.e. from booking the ticket, to the end, when the passengers arrive. Additionally, they will have your flight history saved in their database. When I first arrived at Flinders University, I noticed on my phone that Wi-Fi was available. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the Wi-Fi service immediately because my friend said......half of the card......arch using the name, which is very difficult because many people have the same name . Secondly, we can also search using an email address, which is the easiest and fastest way to find a person/friend. Email address is a unique attribute in Facebook's user database. The email address is necessary to register on Facebook before registering our name, surname, date of birth and relationship status. Every organization has its own method for designing its database. Building a good database is a good step towards achieving your organizational goals. Interacting with some computer systems means interacting with their databases. So, how many organizations have our data in their databases?
