The first of the Eight Jesuses who turns water into wine (John 2:1-11). Most men throughout history have sought to rise to greatness. Others who didn't seek greatness became great without any deal. By looking at the context of each of the eight miracles performed by Jesus, we are watching a man who was fully God and fully human do, what no other man could do. Jesus while on earth established his credentials that will forever be engraved in time and eternity. The miracle in which Jesus turned water into wine not only demonstrated his glory but also his divinity. The Amplified Bible puts it this way (v. 11 This is the first of His eight signs (miracles, works of wonders), which Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory [by which He openly showed His greatness and His power], and His disciples believed in Him [adhered to Him, trusted in Him and trusted in Him]. The ideal of the first and every miracle that Jesus performed was to glorify the Father and believe in his name. Dr. Towns agrees with the biblical account of Jesus turning water into wine 1. (These signs were one way Jesus ''manifested His glory'') (Towns xiii). and does not see the glory of the one and only Lord and savior Jesus Christ. This, in turn, demonstrates the power of Jesus over creation The healing of the nobleman's son (John 4:46-54) It is quite ironic that Jesus has visited the same place where he performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. Now he returns to the same place and heals the son of a nobleman. Who ever said that a miracle cannot happen twice in the same place. Instead of him (Jesus) going there to physically lay hands on a person, he orders the nobleman to go and see... middle of paper... asked how the audience would be fed, one response was to go to the market to buy the food he needed. But noticing that there were two problems one, having to deal with the lack of food, and the other with the lack of funds, the disciples were amazed. Instead of looking at the one who was and is a problem solver. This signifies Jesus' power over food. The last four of the Eight Signs fall in this order: Jesus walking on the water (John 6:1-14) demonstrates Jesus' power over natural laws. The healing of the blind man (John 9:1-12) demonstrates Jesus' power over physical laws. The raising of Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44) shows Jesus' power over death. Last but not least, the miraculous draft of fish (John: 1-11) shows the power of Jesus, over all of the above. It is a wonder in itself that one man can have so much power to change the world.
