Topic > Descriptive Essay on a Coffee Shop - 2493

Through the windows of this charming little coffee shop the light shines brightly through the huge windows that surround the coffee shop on both sides. When the light shines inside, it reflects off the teapots and coffee cups sitting on the shelves in all different colors, and with the reflection it creates swirls of colors on the tables and floor, which makes the coffee shop seem bigger than it actually IS. The atmosphere makes the coffee shop very inviting to stay all day and work, sit with friends and meet up, or just sit quietly admiring the environment around you and all the things you miss in your busy life. As I sit here waiting for David Johnson, I realize how relaxed everyone is here, people are at peace with themselves and just sitting here with the breeze blowing through the store as people come in and out the door, but The back door is open, so with that breeze it fills the whole room with pleasant spring air, just as the wonderful scent of freshly ground coffee beans fills the room. The first time I saw David Johnson preform in a bar I was with my brother at the bar when he came to visit me, it changed the way I look at open mic night. I didn't want to be there, I wanted to be anywhere else but there. I never see my brother because he lives in another state, I never go to Philadelphia because New York is my passion, but my brother wanted to go so I told him why not, while he was in Glenside visiting me. There were so many people performing and they all blurred into the background of my mind. I didn't understand what their message was or if they were singing just to sing in front of a crowd of people. Tell this man who went up on stage and started talking and I didn't understand......middle of the paper......opens his mouth there is an intelligent man with surprising opinions and ideas who impress everyone when he speaks. He had a difficult life in his late teens and early adulthood and doesn't let that hold him back today, he attributes his difficulties to the person he is today, a hippie throwback who lives for music, concerts and a communal feeling of peace , happiness and community. Dave is never at a loss for opinions on government, neither through his songs nor through his poems does he question things he believes are wrong and make them publicly known for all to hear. He gives credit to those who are today in the hippie movements of the 60s and when you see him you can tell he was born in the wrong generation. It's an amazing countercultural change in our society, you always need people above and out there to make a change and Dave is that person in our society who does that.
