Media plays a very important role in communicating and passing information to its viewers, readers and listeners. One such form of media-borne communication is provided by the film industries where most films are produced to communicate with those who watch them. The messages offered by these films can be positive or negative; therefore it can lead people to acquire certain tendencies or even stop carrying out particular activities commonly described in these films. The influential nature of the Terminator film, in various aspects of society and popular culture, will subsequently be identified, discussed and analyzed in the paper. Terminator, which has been considered to be of great influence in society, is a science fiction film that was highly successful and became very popular between 1984 and 1986. A clear indication of this fact is that Terminator is listed among the top hundred iconic films of all times. The Terminator has also played a vital role in influencing popular culture and society at large in regards to teaching lessons about morals and admirable characters that individuals should acquire in society. In summary, film can be used to shape the attitudes of individuals and society. Terminator can be classified as an action-packed science fiction, horror, and thriller film. The film was produced in 1984 and achieved huge success. The opening scene reflects that of the future in Los Angeles, where much technology includes the presence and domination of the world by AI machines.
