1. IntroductionTesco – Company OverviewTesco is among the world's leading undefeated food retailers. Tesco's turnover was over £54 billion in 2009 and Tesco was used by over 470,000 people. Tesco operates its business across 4,331 stores. They operate their business in 14 completely different countries around the world. Tesco's business operates predominantly in the United States, Europe and Asia, and Tesco's headquarters are located in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. After conducting an analysis, Tesco operates over 960 specific stores. Tesco sells around 7,000 products and offers latest foods in appropriate locations. With 170 metropolitan stores, Tesco sells a range of food products in town and city centres. And 450 hypermarkets sell food and non-food products, such as DVDs and books. Tesco jointly provides its online service through its website www.tesco.com and Tesco Direct. Furthermore, Tesco has varied its business by providing new services such as broadband and money services through Tesco Personal Finance (TPF). During the year 1919, Tesco was founded and in 1929 it opened its first store in Edgware, London, Great Britain (Tesco, 2010). However, over the years Tesco has grown to become undefeated, arriving in its markets as a market leader in the food retail trader sector.
