Famous for having created a connection between geometry and algebra, which allowed geometric problems to be solved through algebraic equations, which promoted a new conception of matter, which explained physical phenomena through mechanical explanations and the premise of knowledge of oneself and oneself . the existence of God. Descartes' mother died in May after his birth, so Descartes was raised along with a number of siblings by his grandmother. He attended the Jesuit college of LaFleche until 1614, then the University of Poitiers in 1615. He received his baccalaureate and licentiate in canon and civil law a year later.
