The Cambodian Genocide was the result of the Khmer Rouge guerrilla force taking over Lon Nol's government in 1975. Their leader, Pol Pot, was an admirer of Chinese communism and wanted to make Cambodia a place where all citizens should participate in agricultural activities and all Western innovations should be removed. Pol Pot then proposed that to create the ideal communist nation, all Cambodians should work as laborers on collective farms, and anyone who opposed this should be eliminated. However during this period Cambodia became involved in the Vietnam War due to the fact that the old government leader, Lon Nol, was helping the US-backed South Vietnamese forces to conquer North Vietnam, supported by the US-backed forces by Pol Pots. Before Pol Pots took over the Cambodian government, the Americans, already fighting in Vietnam, thought it was right to invade capitalist Cambodia as well. During this time guerrilla forces led by Pol Pots were fighting a civil war against Lon Nol, which allowed the Americans to host troops, air bases, barracks and weapons depots. When Pol Pots' forces won the civil war, he began supporting the North Vietnamese army. Thus Pol Pots showed his true anger towards capitalist countries and passion for communism. Pol Pot's goals were to create a nation where everything would be done in a non-Western way, for example without industrialized jobs and without urbanized areas. He wanted his nation, Cambodia, to start over, from year 0, and create the strongest agricultural nation and base the country on Mao's Chinese communism. His goal was to "disinfect" Cambodia from the idea of capitalism and to use all civilians as forced laborers on collective farms and to make everyone equal as there... half of the paper... the standard of living. in Cambodian and there were very few city dwellers, thus forcing all the farmers who had bombed their farms and thus causing the increase of hatred towards the United States and its ideals, however due to the fact that there were only limited reasons on how to explain why Pol Pot committed genocide due to the US bombing of Cambodia and countless other reasons why Pol Pot caused this crime to demonstrate his commitment to Mao's idea of Chinese communism and to impose and control his power over CambodiaTherefore the genocide in Cambodia was caused because Pol Pot was fed up with the ruling government and wanted to express his true passion for communism and show the people of his country that they should not be overwhelmed without having to face consequences extremes of starvation and executions
