What is marriage: Marriage has been around longer than written history and there is still a great demand for it. Over half of the adult population in the United States is married, comprising over 2 million people. At some point, two-thirds of all Americans heterosexual or homosexual will swear for better or for worse until death do us part. Despite the recent decrease in the number of people getting married, it is still a dizzying 80%. Marriage is an integral part of who we are as human beings, but the real question is whether it is due to evolutionary development or God's creation. These two belief systems play a vital role in how we understand and experience marriage. The first view is the evolutionary development that believes that marriage was not created by God and did not originate in the beginning, however it was developed by society in the cultural context. Concluding, therefore, that marriage has been a human institution invested throughout history as a way to fulfill social roles. The second vision would fall within the biblical vision. Marriage is not of human origin, because it began with God the Creator. It was created by God from the beginning of history when He created the heavens and the earth. As the Creator of marriage, God has the right to tell us what rules should control it. Tim Keller states this in his book Meaning of Marriage; “Marriage is an idea of ​​God. Psychology shows that the more you repeat a lie, the more you begin to believe it as truth. “Even when biology disproves it, the law denies it, and the statement is exposed as a lie” (Kohm, 2001), society defends and embraces homosexuality as part of the original design. It is worth remembering that homosexuality itself is not the problem, but the alteration of the initial purpose of creation is.
