On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked 4 planes. Two planes were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City; one was launched into the Pentagon, while the last crashed into a farm field. A total of 3,000 people died (CNN, “September 11 Anniversary Facts”). I conducted my first interview with my father: Paul Peterson. My father has been an operations manager at Abbott/Abbvie Laboratories for the past 27 years. He manages the daily operations of his department: caring for animals, creating reports, conducting interviews, etc. On the morning of September 11, 2001, he was accompanying an interviewee on a visit to the laboratories when another employee approached him and informed them that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. His initial thought was that the plane had gone off course and accidentally crashed into the building. When he heard about the second plane he knew it had been intentional.
