Neolithic RevolutionThe transition from the Neolithic to the Agricultural Revolution came with many changes as humans had to adapt to new jobs and tools. Market economies have evolved and created a new order of life for most of humanity. Positive advances included a new food surplus, a higher standard of living, and a more diverse labor market. These developments have also had negative consequences, including an abundance of unskilled labor, increased competition for income and power, and the abandonment of nomadic traditions. Technological advances during the Neolithic Revolution led to significant changes in the way humans worked, lived, and spent their free time. New technology discovered following the Neolithic Revolution helped advance farmers' tools. The Stonehenge monument may have been used as a weather forecasting tool. This monument used astronomy as a measuring tool "In the 1960s, astronomer Gerald Hawkins suggested that the megalithic stone cluster functioned as an astronomical calendar, with different points corresponding to astrological phenomena such as solstices, equinoxes, and eclipses" ( "Stonehenge"). It has been speculated that Stonehenge may have been used as a solar calendar to track the movements of the sun and moon to indicate the changing seasons. Stonehenge was a large, detailed monument "For centuries, historians and archaeologists have puzzled over the many mysteries of Stonehenge, the prehistoric monument that took Neolithic builders some 1,500 years to erect" ("Stonehenge"). It is believed that farmers used this monument built during the Neolithic as a calendar to track harvest times.
