In many cases police officers bring the effects of the job with them to home. This form of stress affecting the police officer's personal life can be seen in the officer working too hard and trying too hard. The officer will take his work home with him and neglect his spouse and children. This neglect of affection and communication that the officer has towards the spouse puts a lot of stress on the family. An officer who is truly overwhelmed with stress will neglect the family and in many cases begin to neglect the other daily activities of the home.
