Topic > Make a Change: Vote - 1176

Many people keep complaining about how the government is a complete failure, but if you do your part and vote, you can make a change in the government system. Voting is your opinion on paper that could change the way a leader runs this country in America. Americans should have the ability to vote and express their opinion, but many of us don't take advantage of free speech. It is our responsibility as citizens to elect officials we believe to be honest. These officials must help make our country a better and safer place. We Americans hope that all individuals will take the opportunity to vote and not just sit back and complain about those in office. During voting season, you can only vote once, so it is very important that you do your research on the individual you are voting for to govern this country. The vote represents all Americans in the United States in having an equal say. Each vote lets running candidates know who supports their views. Elected candidates will have the power to plan education policies, health care, highways, jobs and taxes. However, people in other countries die so they can cast a vote and make a difference. People who live in a third world nation don't have the right to vote, so it's a privilege to have it in our country. If you don't vote, you technically have no right to complain about government decisions and issues. For example, a car without an engine is worth nothing, you can't drive it, and a democracy without voters has no power, this country would be in big trouble. As an individual, people think that one vote won't make a difference, but the opposite the truth is that it will. When your vote is combined with that of other voters who share the same opinions, it becomes... middle of the paper... an easy vote if they are willing to get involved. One person can make a difference by casting their vote and paying close attention to what candidates promise people. You can change the world and make it a better place simply by casting your vote. This is a very cruel world and if you want to make a change, you should register and vote. We as people can't count on anyone to take care of us and if you want to make a difference… vote.Works Citedhttp://teenadvice.about.com/od/teenlifefaqsandqas/a/youthvote2004a.htm By Mike Hardcastle published in the year 2010http: //www.buzzle.com/articles/reasons-why-people-should-vote.html By Uttara Manohar year 2010http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/whyvote_sdqi.htm Written by Rose Halas - © 2002http: //pbskids.org/zoom/fromyou/elections/elections101.html by PBS Kids 1998-2005
