Topic > Swedish Agriculture and Timber Industry in Indonesia

With over 130 million hectares of forest area, Indonesia has the third largest forest in the world. These forests are home to many different wildlife and unique creatures that are not found naturally anywhere else in the world. Before the 1950s these forests were dense and in natural balance. By introducing greed in the form of reckless humans and machinery over the course of some 60 years, Indonesia has won the dubious honor of becoming the “world leader in deforestation.” This has led to an unnatural balance and is causing humans to try to control the environment more than they should. They practice the act of Swedish agriculture just as the indigenous people of those regions do. It is the action of cutting down trees and burning any unnecessary and unprofitable materials. It is then abandoned and then left fallow for a number of years. Usually, the greater the number of people, the shorter the fallow. The only difference is that when industries adopt this practice, they overdo it without considering the consequences. Swedish farming is an agricultural subsistence method with no real purpose or positive benefits for very demanding consumers. Industrial Swedish agriculture requires clearing thousands of square kilometers of forest for export and sale for profit. Overuse of Swidden agriculture and logging has led to pollution, poor soil quality, and a slow depletion of natural resources. This farming method is slowly destroying the natural environment and affecting those who are not affected. Pollution is a global problem and it is a theory that many refuse to believe. It is likely that many of these people are Indonesian if we look at their treatment of the environment. Forced breeding is a well-known practice and is used by many who access... middle of paper... disrupt the well-being of innocent bystanders. Excessive use of chemicals and the act of burning will make the soil hard, leading to a slow decrease in tree growth and increased labor for maintenance and harvesting. Finally the trees will end up for large-scale industries. The Indonesian government is the main problem and must be addressed first in order to make real changes. Once corruption disappears, civilians will have better living standards and the logging industry will be more controlled. When Swedish agriculture stops and the Indonesian government eradicates corruption from the country, the forests will be able to regrow and return to their original state. Rich in biodiversity and full of lush greenery. It's much easier to run away from something than to run towards something. So, it is a good idea to cut down and burn all the forest area in Indonesia??
