Whether raised correctly by parents or heavily influenced by the environment, many people debate whether an individual is mostly influenced by genetics or influenced by their environment. A person's environment can have multiple influences, but the genes passed down from parents play a huge role in the development of what their offspring will be like. Not being able to adequately test whether certain characteristics of a person arise from genetics or environmental influences makes this theory very difficult to understand, thus making the theme of nature vs. extremely controversial education. Debates always show that nature and nurture are at odds, but then there may be evidence to suggest that the two are linked and that a person is actually an enigma characterized by the mixture of predisposed genetics and environmental influences.
