Business Problem ProposalAbstractAmed Lopez Construction began on June 15, 2005. This construction company has grown from a small residential construction company to a small scale construction company businesses. Amed Lopez Construction has grown incredibly in recent months so much so that it cannot continue with the same structure and administration. The company is at a stage where it needs to restructure to continue its successful growth and expand its horizons. Profits in any business are the basis of growth and everything that is involved in increasing its market. Currently, Amed Lopez Construction has twenty-four workers with Amed, the owner, overseeing five different projects. Amed needs to start using subcontractors for upcoming big projects so it doesn't get absorbed and stop growing so each project can be overseen more efficiently. The company requires smart and organized growth so that the results are effective. Problem Statement Amed Lopez Construction will grow from a small project-based company to a large project-based company due to its high job demand and growth opportunities. With the right hires and structure, Amed Lopez Construction will have the opportunity to achieve market dominance in the construction industry and achieve future profitability. Value Statement It is worth doing the research because it will give a small business the opportunity to grow successfully and effectively. At the same pace it will give current key employees an opportunity to grow. Background The current state that Amed Lopez Construction is in will not allow for more projects and the current projects will require Amed to stay on construction sites longer leaving some projects unattended. The priority of every company is to make the customer happy to earn money. This opportunity relates to an organizational management issue because compliance will be an issue if projects are not properly supervised and delegated. Unfortunately, some ethical issues can be associated with growth and restructuring. Of the current 24 existing employees, there will have to be promotions and layoffs. There will be a need for key employees who will always be on the payroll whether the company expands or reduces in size as this is seasonal work. Subcontractors will be responsible for specific work and will therefore replace some current staff. A transition is needed in how the current business structure works and how it should work to drive successful and profitable growth.
