Hippocrates was a Greek physician who left a legacy that existed during his lifetime in classical Greece and continues today. His moral and ethical standards were the foundation of his teachings, along with his meticulous writings regarding the study of the human body. He firmly believed that ill health and disease were the result of a natural process that could be discovered and cured through careful clinical reasoning and observations. Hippocrates traveled throughout Greece teaching and describing the symptoms of diseases and taught doctors how to analyze and treat specific illnesses or diseases. Hippocrates' successes give him the respect of doctors and medical professionals around the world that continues today. Hippocrates was born on the Aegean island of Cos around the 5th century BC. He belonged to a wealthy family of doctors, who ensured that he received a good education. Although it is not known where he studied, it is known that Hippocrates studied physical education, reading, writing, spelling, music, singing and poetry for nine years before going to secondary school, where he spent two years of very thorough athletic training. and mental discipline.
