Topic > Staples Inc.'s Stakeholders - 1993

Introduction Stakeholders are individuals and constituencies who contribute, voluntarily or involuntarily, to its wealth-creating capacity and activities and who are therefore its potential beneficiaries and/or subjects at risk1. There are different types of stakeholders associated with a company, and those stakeholders may have different views and opinions on what the company's goals should be and how they should be managed. I interviewed three different Staples Inc. stakeholders, an employee, a customer, and a shareholder, to find out their relationship with each other and the company. I will then use this information to suggest how the company should proceed and continue to have a better and more beneficial relationship with its stakeholders. CorporationStaples Inc. is the largest retail office supply chain operating worldwide with nearly 2,000 stores operating in over 10 countries and many more via catalog and order delivery1. Staples offers supplies, office equipment, furniture, technology and other business services such as a copy center2. In addition to providing services and products to meet the needs of stakeholders such as company employees, investors, and customers, Staples offers a program called Staples' Soul. This program was established to address the concerns of all other stakeholders such as local communities, government, private organizations and regulatory authorities. To do this they seek environmental excellence by offering environmentally preferable products and educating stakeholders on environmental issues, they also work for the community through their alliance with US and international charitable organizations, causing marketing in.. . half paper. ....Tales' Soul program could incentivize paying for college for its employees. This would allow customers and employees to take advantage of this program which will now reach out to all stakeholders by letting them know, it would also leave the Staples' Soul program intact.
