Meaning of Christ Several scholars refer to Jesus as the “New Adam.” There are many similarities and differences that support this conclusion. Both Adam and Jesus were created as perfect men. They possessed human abilities and were sinless, holy, and had a relationship with God. They too were created human, but as an incarnation of God1. In other words, they were God in the flesh, but Adam was made in the image of God while Jesus was made in the image of the “invisible God” 2. Unlike Adam, the Lord Jesus was divine, having the attributes, privileges, and names of divinity. Being fully God, he is worthy of worship1. It begins by telling how God created Adam from dust and how He created Eve from Adam's side 4. Adam brought struggle and pain to all humanity through his sins condemning us all, and God put Jesus on earth to free us from sin and allow us to be one with God again.
