Many nations use energy generated by burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas. However, with rapid population growth, the demand for energy is increasing and this means that burning fossil fuels to create energy generates emissions such as carbon dioxide and monoxide which in turn affect our environment, health and warms our planet. Long-term use of fossil fuels is not feasible, therefore, to combat dependence on fossil fuels, it is necessary to adopt renewable energy sources to maintain economic growth and development and to preserve the environment and prevent greater warming risks global. As stated by Turner (687) “we cannot continue to burn fossil fuels and somehow sequester the CO2 produced efficiently enough to actually address global warming.” long-term alternative to fossil fuels. According to Mingyuan (356), “The legal definition of renewable energy is any energy derived from the sun.” These energy sources regenerate over time without depleting the Earth's resources (David 106). Renewable energy offers long-term social, environmental and economic benefits. Renewable energy lowers energy costs, creates jobs, eliminates air pollution, promotes national growth and stability, and preserves the environment. Another great advantage of renewable energy is that it can be regenerated, and this makes it sustainable because it can never run out. It helps conserve the nation's natural resources because it is renewable after a period of time. Renewable energy provides constant and reliable sources of energy, and therefore improves a country's energy security and... middle of paper......or guarantees our survival and the safety of the future generation.
